At Molana Luxe, we are committed to providing jewelry that is perfect for everyday wear. Generally, none of our jewelry should cause irritation. It is worth noting that the body’s natural acidity can sometimes be a contributing factor to skin irritation. No matter what jewelry you wear, if irritation occurs, take it off immediately.

Gold Overlay Jewelry

Gold overlay jewelry is made by combining gold with other metals. It is as close as you get to real gold at a much lower cost. It is nickel free so is less likely to irritate the skin. Gold overlay jewelry will not tarnish easily. It is also relatively water resistant, however, continuous exposure to water is not recommended as your jewelry may lose its shine.

Sterling silver

Pure silver is relatively soft metal which if used to create jewelry will easily scratch or break. Sterling Silver is a combination of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% alloy. Our Sterling Silver pieces are stamped 925. Some of our pieces are Gold Vermeil, which is sterling silver plated with a thick layer of gold. Sterling silver is a delicate material which needs some love and care.  With the proper care, Sterling Silver jewelry will last a long time. To minimize oxidation of silver jewelry, it is important to keep it dry at all times.  

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is a durable material which is resistant to corrosion. Our stainless steel pieces are hypoallergenic and water resistant. Gold plated stainless steel is not guaranteed to maintain its colour forever, however, with proper care it will maintain its shine for a long time.

Jewelry Care

With these little tips you can extend the life of your beautiful pieces of jewelry.

Avoid contact with harsh chemicals. Put on your jewelry after applying lotions, perfumes and other beauty products.  

Always take off your jewelry before swimming or showering to maintain its shine.

Give your jewelry a wipe with a soft cloth before storing. Cleaning with a damp cloth is recommended every once in a while. Avoid using harsh chemicals to clean your jewelry.

Jewelry should be completely dry before storing. Store jewelry separately to prevent scratches and tangles.
